Demo Patrol is a licensed demolition contractor specializing in barn, shed, garage, and outbuilding removal across Northern California. We handle the full scope — hazmat evaluation, material salvage, structural teardown, debris hauling, foundation removal, and site grading. One crew, one contract, no subcontractors.
What We Demolish
From a small backyard shed to a large agricultural barn on acreage — we bring the equipment, the licensing, and the crew to handle any outbuilding demolition project in Northern California.
Wood frame, metal pole barns, and mixed-construction agricultural barns of any size. We evaluate structural condition, assess hazmat risk, and plan the teardown sequence to maximize safety and efficiency.
Prefab sheds, custom-built storage structures, and tool buildings. Often combined with concrete pad removal. Quick teardown with full debris hauling and site grading included.
Standalone garages — wood frame, block, or metal construction. Foundation removal included when needed. Common for property owners making room for new construction or expanding their yard.
Equipment shelters, hay barns, livestock buildings, grain storage, and other agricultural outbuildings. We understand rural property access and work with the site conditions your property presents.
Workshop buildings, carports, and covered structures. Often include electrical, plumbing, or concrete work that needs to be disconnected and removed as part of the demolition scope.
Structures that are leaning, partially collapsed, or condemned by the county. These require a careful approach — structural instability changes the demolition sequence. We assess risk and plan accordingly.
Material Salvage
Not everything in an old barn deserves a landfill. Spencer personally evaluates every barn and outbuilding for materials worth preserving before a single wall comes down. Hand-hewn beams, vintage hardware, barn wood siding, original doors — if it has value to you, we pull it out first.
One of our favorite saves: a set of 90-year-old hand-hewn beams from a barn in the foothills. The customer wanted them preserved for a mantle and table project. We carefully extracted every beam before the teardown. That is the kind of attention we bring to barn demolition — it is not just about knocking things down.
Old-growth timber beams found in barns built before the 1950s are irreplaceable. We extract them carefully for furniture, mantles, accent walls, and architectural features.
Weathered barn wood is sought after for accent walls, furniture, and design projects. We remove siding in usable lengths when customers want to preserve the character of their barn.
Door hinges, barn door tracks, pulleys, latches, and other hardware from older structures. These are often hand-forged or period-specific pieces that cannot be reproduced.
Original barn doors, transom windows, and architectural details. We remove them intact before demolition so they can be repurposed or preserved as-is.
Our Process
Every barn and outbuilding demolition follows a structured process. We evaluate the structure, preserve what matters, tear down what does not, and leave you with a clean property.
We inspect the structure — construction type, age, condition, foundation, and potential hazmat. Site access is evaluated for our equipment. You receive a written, itemized estimate.
Spencer walks the structure with you to identify materials worth saving — beams, siding, hardware, doors. Salvage items are flagged and extraction is planned before any demolition begins.
Older structures may contain asbestos roofing, lead paint, or other hazardous materials. We coordinate testing when warranted and arrange abatement with licensed specialists before teardown.
Electrical, water, gas, and any other utilities serving the structure are disconnected. 811 called for underground locating. No live services when we start the teardown.
Identified salvage materials are carefully extracted and set aside. Beams are removed without damage. Siding pulled in usable lengths. Hardware catalogued and preserved for you.
Excavators and grapple attachments bring down the structure in a controlled sequence. Wood, metal, and concrete separated on site for proper recycling and disposal.
Concrete slabs and foundations broken out with hydraulic breakers and hauled to our private recycling yard. Wood and metal to appropriate recycling. Every load documented.
The footprint is graded level, debris cleared, and the site left clean. Ready for new construction, landscaping, fencing, or whatever your plan is for the space.
Rural Properties
Most barn and outbuilding demolition happens on rural properties — acreage, ranch land, foothill parcels, and agricultural properties. These sites present access challenges that suburban demolition does not: narrow driveways, soft ground, long haul distances, and limited turnaround space for trucks.
We serve property owners across Northern California's rural landscape — from the Central Valley floor to the Sierra foothills to the coastal ranges. Our equipment and our crew are accustomed to working in conditions where the nearest paved road might be a half-mile away.
We evaluate driveway width, gate clearance, bridge weight limits, grade, and terrain during the onsite visit. The right equipment is selected based on what the site allows — not what is easiest for us.
Smaller machines for tight access. Full-size excavators for open acreage. We bring what the site requires and do not force oversized equipment onto properties where it does not fit.
Wet winter ground, fire season restrictions, and seasonal access limitations are all factored into scheduling. We plan around the conditions to avoid property damage and project delays.
Rural properties often span multiple jurisdictions with different permitting requirements. Sacramento County, Butte County, El Dorado County, Placer County — we know the process in each.
Why Demo Patrol
We do not just knock things down. Spencer personally walks every barn looking for materials worth saving. Ninety-year-old beams, vintage hardware, barn wood — if it matters to you, we preserve it.
CA Contractor #1117491 with full general liability and workers' compensation coverage. We carry the insurance required to protect your property — especially important on rural acreage with unique site conditions.
Excavators, grapple attachments, skid steers, hydraulic breakers, and 10-wheeler trucks. We own our iron and scale equipment to match the site — from tight backyard sheds to open-acreage barns.
Structure teardown, debris hauling, foundation removal, concrete recycling, and site grading — all one crew. We do not leave you with a slab and a pile of debris.
OSHA-10 Certified. Older structures present unique safety considerations — structural instability, potential hazmat, and unpredictable conditions. We plan for every scenario before the first machine fires up.
5.0 rating across platforms. Property owners trust us with structures that have been on their land for generations. We earn that trust by treating every project with care.

We serve a 5-hour radius from our Northern California base — Sacramento, Chico, the Central Valley, foothills, and coastal regions. Barn and outbuilding demolition takes us to rural properties across the state, and we are equipped to handle the access and logistics that come with it.
